PalacMlodziezy — Tue, 04 Aug 2015 01:40:43 +0000

Our festival is over ! On Monday afternoon we met all together, for the last time in our international group in front of the Youth Centre. We were able to observe a big stage and stalls all around it. Our participants prepared their national specialties for inhabitants of Lodz. As usual, sweet Turkish cookies and Belarusian honey turned out to be the most popular !

While numerous handicraft workshops were going on, we could observe our foreign guests dancing and singing for the last time. Late in the evening, the closing ceremony of the festival took place. The spectacular fireshow prepared by theater called D-H.A ended everything beautifully.

After that, well, there was time to say goodbay because most of the foreign representations had to go back home. Only our guests from Georgia and Ukraine stayed a bit longer to visit EC-1 and enjoy walking around the city for the very last time.

Unfortunately, all good things come to an end, but fantastic memories and new international friendships have a place in hearts of all the participants, forever.

You were all incredible ! We managed to build an international home in which we spend many amazing days together.

Thank you for everything and see you !

“We will build a house” The Gala Concert.

PalacMlodziezy — Tue, 04 Aug 2015 01:35:19 +0000

Folk Inspirations Gala Concert is behind us! We have met yesterday at guest hall of Wytwórnia the club. Lively sounds of the Mazurka came out of the speakers and Zespół Pieśni i Tańca Kalina from Domaniewice, Poland, run into the stage with a dancing skip. Our international festival takes place in Poland, so it is suitable to greet the audience with the polish folk dance. When the last measures of the Mazurka quietened, Sylwia Bartosik, who was leading this colourful evening together with £ukasz Siemi¹tkowski, came into the stage and started with sentimental sentence about the fact that eight festival days are behind us… Yes, dears, it has been so many days since our first meeting… It is the time to remind us all of our wonderful participants and the opportunity for it was the gala concert titled “Zbudujemy dom” (“We will build a house”). Dance groups and vocal groups were performing on the stage one after another. The ones who began were Sviatki from Belarus, and after this the Georgians presented their vibrant dance, then the Turks, who were colourfully dressed in their folk costumes, caused a volley of applause with their performance. The audience awarded every performance with loud applause and the title song “Zbudujemy dom” (“We will build a house”) was taken up by everyone.

Among the spectators there was I.a. Łódź’s voivode Jolanta Chełmińska, the show was also watched by city councilwoman Małgorzata Bartosiak and the headmistress of Łódź’s Music Theatre Grażyna Posmykiewicz. The great applause and the proof of sympathy was received by the organiser and headmaster of the festival, who was invited to the stage – the head of Julian Tuwim Youth Centre in Łódź, Adam Kocher.

Impatiently we have been waiting for the announcement of the results of Golden Boat 2015 competition. Here are the results. -

In the end all of the performers and participants sang the festival song, which in this year was the song of the band Enej – “We will build a house”.

The day full of excitement came to an end with dance for the participants of the festival, where the languages, culture and colourful costumes have mixed because everyone were having fun together, no matter where they came from and what impression will they take home from distant Poland. The last event of the Festival is ahead of us – today we invite everyone to Poleski Piknik Folkowy in front of the Youth Centre on Wyszyńskiego 86 St., but before we say goodbye, we offer you lots of attractions – a fair of the cultures and nationalities, games from different parts of the World and also big exterior concert!

Another day of the Festival began with ”Folk Inspirations in the 20th Century Fashion” workshops for children and youth in Central Museum of Textiles – White Factory. Having visited the museum foreign representations arrived to take part in the opening of ”5 Years of Folk Inspirations – rundown on Festival achievements” photography exhibition. The representations also participated in the vernissage of the works of the laureates of this year’s edition of ”Golden Boat Photo Competition”. The audience was astonished at many works, especially those bringing back memories of the former editions of the Festival. Another attraction of the forenoon was the meeting with a great lover of hiking in the Beskid, a traveller – Bartłomiej Zgorzelski. Our guest through his stories managed to prove that travelling your own country or the world is not just the way of spending free time but a great opportunity to getting to know different cultures.

Everybody moved to Art Inkubator after the lunch break where it was time for Folk Design. Following the short visiting of the cultural centre the opening exhibition of the winners of ”2015 Golden Boat Design Competition” took place. During the meeting with Polish designers from AZE DESIGN studio and Italian-Greek duet of designers from ENTROPIKA studio, artists told us about finding inspiration to realizing modern projects. Throughout the whole event there were unique pieces of craftwork available to buy made by the young artists (purses, jewellery, gadgets).

Łódź Dance Folk at White Factory – a great dance show, which was definitely the high point of the day. Four groups from Ukraine were warming the public up to dance: BARVINOK, FLAMINGO, PERVOCVIT, DEBIUT. Lodz townspeople, delighted by the show moved with the performers to Manufaktura to see the Georgian-Polish-Ukrainian spectacle called “Inspirations – from Tradition to Modernity”, which was originally to take place the day before but was postponed due to the bad weather conditions

Zbudujemy dom (We will build a house) – the song of the V MFTM Folk Inspirations

PalacMlodziezy — Fri, 10 Jul 2015 13:02:06 +0000

The organizers of the International Festival of Youth Creativity “Folk Inspirations” are trying to implement new ideas from one edition to the next one.

Although the idea of the festival remains the same, the interest of especially young people in modern creation of all fields of art, which are based on the richness of different nations and ethnic groups in the world, a design festival and musical setting of every edition surprises us with a new form.

“Zbudujemy dom” by a band Enej is the song of the festival “Folk Inspirations”. Its words ideally fits the idea of the festival and, moreover, they reflect the amazing atmosphere, because regardless of a country, religion, age, national origin all participants of the festival are always becoming one big family performing and playing with one another under “international folk roof”. It’s amazing how the participants treat one another with respect and in spite of some sort of rivalry, they mutual support others in the struggle of competition for the “Golden Boat”. Today, three participants of music classes in the Youth Palace in Lodz faced the challenge of recording the festival song in the recording studio Centre No. 1 in Lodz. Despite many attempts and repetition, humor and enthusiasm didn’t go away and it is obvious that their performance of the song “We’ll build a house” will have a positive impression on the audience. Thanks to an envoy, this year’s festival song brings optimism. The barriers, prejudices, as well as adversity that accompany us are not important. We can change a lot!

Let’s be optimistic and have the fifth edition of the festival “Folk Inspirations” as successful as the previous ones. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with words of the song and we hope that we all together will sing “We’ll build a house” during the various events of the festival. See and download lyrics of the song ! (PL, EN, RUS)
